As you know the precinct caucuses are this Sunday, April 15th.
It is possible that at that time you might be asked some questions about the schedule, timing and location of the 2012 Washington State Democratic Convention. This email should assist you in answering some of these questions and perhaps some of your own.
The State Convention is being held from Friday June 1st to Sunday June 3rd, 2012 at the Washington State Convention Center (800 Convention Place, Seattle, WA 98101). The host hotel is the Westin Seattle (1900 5th Ave, Seattle, WA 98101). The Westin and the Convention Center are both union facilities. It is less than ½ a mile between the Convention Center and the Westin.
Attached to this email are a Tentative Schedule and Registration Information about the State Convention. If you are elected as congressional district caucus/state convention delegate at your legislative district caucus on the weekend of April 28th and 29th you will receive the final version of the Registration Form. You will be able to sign up by mailing in the Registration Form or registering online at www.wa-democrats.org. Online registration will be up by April 28th. We would prefer that you sign up for everything all at once. Also, it is easier on our system if you sign up for a package.
Rooms at the Westin are $139+tax per night. You will get information on how to book your room if you are elected as a delegate or alternate. You will be able to book your room beginning April 30th. All rooms must be booked by May 17th, but room may sell out before May 17th. We will also give you overflow hotel options at that time too.
If you have any questions about registration or housing for the State Convention please contact Shawna Ousse at (206) 583-0664 or email@example.com.
PS – Remember that in 2012 Chairs, Vice Chairs and State Committee Members are not automatic delegates to the State Convention, but must be elected to these positions at their legislative district caucus or sub caucus.
